Miracle on Marine Publicity for MediQuest Technologies

"Are you kidding me? That's insane!" That was my first reaction to hearing what MediQuest owner Chris Metcalfe dubbed "The Miracle on Marine." As the now-famous story goes, a man by the name of Lorne Dufors was driving down SW Marine Dr. in Vancouver on July 15. He felt a pain in his chest, passed out, and crashed his pick-up. As it turned out, Lorne had suffered Sudden Cardiac Arrest - and for those familiar with it - when that happens, it's almost always fatal...

Unless defibrillation happens immediately.

The amazing part of this story is that another man by the name of Marc Alfonso happened to be out for ice-cream, and drove by the scene of the accident. The thing is, Marc is no average passerby - he carries a full trauma kit, including a defibrillator, in the trunk of his car for just this type of situation.

Marc took action, grabbing the kit from his trunk and immediately going to work on the patient. He performed CPR, attached the pads of his Defibtech Lifeline Automated External Defibrillator, and with one thump delivered a life-saving shock to Lorne.

Again....are you kidding me?

This is such a nice, feel-good story that was excellent publicity for MediQuest, as well as for the usage of defibrillators (commonly known as AED's).

For the publicity for this, we created a custom media kit (View Kit Here), and made dozens of phonecalls to the media across BC. The results below speak for themselves:
