Efficiency Nova Scotia - Marketing Specialist, Residential - Current

altWorking for Efficiency Nova Scotia has been one of the most gratifying experiences of my career. I'm only a few months into my gig as Residential Marketing Specialist, and I have to say it's probably been the best three months I've ever had on the job. So, what is Efficiency Nova Scotia (ENS), and what is my role there? Simply put, ENS helps Nova Scotians save electricity and other energy through conservation and improved efficiency...

Lifeclinic Canada - Director of Communications - 2010 to 2011

After experiencing the Lifeclinic Canada biometric data kiosk, it totally changed my view of what a pharmacy could be. A lot of people refer to biometric data kiosks as blood pressure monitors (you know the kind next to the pharmacists desk in the drug store). The Lifeclinic Canada HealthChek Stations are so much more. When you look at a HealthChek Station you think "Blood Pressure Monitor" when you try it, you think "WOW!"

MediQuest Technologies - Director of Communications - 2010 to 2011

Over 40,000 Canadians die of sudden cardiac arrest every year, and many of them would survive if a defibrillator had been there there to shock their heart out of atrial fibrillation. MediQuest Technologies is dedicated to making sure that someone is there during sudden cardiac arrest with life-saving CPR and, if needed, a defibrillator. Despite being a relatively small and new company, MediQuest has already saved a number of lives.

Archdiocese of Vancouver Communications Director - 2008 to 2010

When 14,000 people, including about 20 reporters, showed up for Mass at General Motors Place on Nov. 23 2008 it was an absolutely overwhelming and gratifying experience. I was responsible for publicizing the 100th anniversary of the Archdiocese of Vancouver, – that meant – get people there, and make sure reporters cover it. I was so nervous leading up to the big day. Would people show? Would there be any reporters?

Ritchie Bros. - Communications Specialist Contract - 2007 to 2008

Going to a Ritchie Bros. auction is a spectacle to behold. Big machinery, fast talking, and big-time characters trying to outbid each other for a limited number of toys. The first Ritchie Bros. auction I went to was in Las Vegas Nevada, in conjunction with ConExpo, the largest construction event in the world (literally). Ritchie Bros. specializes in auctioning industrial equipment, but also sells just about anything - from yachts to dragline crawlers.

BC Hydro - Advertising Contract - 2003

“I feel like I am in a Zoolander reality show.” That was my first reaction to dealing with my first advertising agency. Trendy people, minimalist décor, lofty ideas and designer shoes. I didn’t realize how true the stereotypes were about Ad creatives until I had my first interaction with them as an Advertising Planner Co-op with BC Hydro. I was at Cossette in their slick Yaletown office with my boss.

BC Lions - Media Relations Contract - 2003

The most interesting (and terrifying) experience with The B.C. Lions was my involvement with their 50th anniversary celebration.Part of the promo for the 50th season was the raffle of a 1954 Chevrolet Bel-Air. We took the car out to the “Abbotsford Car and Boat Show” – and I was pegged as the guy who would be driving it onto the floor. This little adventure had the potential be be a Lion sized disaster.

Canucks - Media Relations Contract - 2002

"Hey Jeff, Mike Brown has something he needs you to take care of," said my boss on my second day of the job. "Uh Hey Jeff," said Mike. "Can you get me a burger?" Swallowing my pride I went down into the concourse and bought the burger... and made sure I had lots of mustard. It was a sobering moment to be more than half way through my communication degree at SFU, on my first co-op work term, and buying a burger for one of my heroes.
