Efficiency Nova Scotia - Marketing Specialist, Residential - Current

altWorking for Efficiency Nova Scotia has been one of the most gratifying experiences of my career. I'm only a few months into my gig as Residential Marketing Specialist, and I have to say it's probably been the best three months I've ever had on the job. So, what is Efficiency Nova Scotia (ENS), and what is my role there? Simply put, ENS helps Nova Scotians save electricity and other energy through conservation and improved efficiency...

For instance, we would openly encourage you to not waste water (conservation) and plug in a CFL bulb (efficiency). The main focus of the company is electricity efficiency and conservation (commonly known as demand side management), and my role is to help market residential programs. Some noteworthy ones are the Plug Into Savings Program which gives Nova Scotians rebates on energy efficient measures (like CFL bulbs, powerbars with timers, and some Tier 3 Energy Star Appliances) and the EnerGuide for Houses program, which provides incentives for adopting energy efficiency in the home (adding insulation, replacing baseboard heaters with a heat-pump etc.).

Why is ENS such a great place to work? For starters, the people I work with are awesome. There is a lot of youthful enthusiasm, and I am generally jazzed to be at work because of it. On a deeper level, the mandate of ENS is something I truly believe in. It is important to me to be a good steward of our resources (particularly finite ones like oil, coal and gas), and I hope to be a part of a cultural change whereby we save our Earth's resources, and improve our lives at the same time.

Anyways, I keep pinching myself at the fact that I'm working at ENS. If you see a job posting that fits you, I highly recommend you apply!
