Defibrillator Deployment Publicity for MediQuest Technologies

Turning tragedy into good. That is the only way to summarize the approach Noah Yelizarov’s family has taken to the untimely death of their son Noah, who died tragically in 2004 when he was struck down by a live power wire. If a defibrillator had been available to Thai First Responders, Noah may still be alive today. Noah's family, BC Firefighters without borders, and MediQuest Technologies partnered to send AED's and training to Thailand so that other lives could be spared.
Bringing defibrillators to Thailand

Noah’s parents subsequently have made it their mission to get defibrillators into as many locations as possible – including Thailand. Their mission was to ensure that the same medical personnel who didn’t have the equipment to save Noah, would have the ability to defibrillate someone else’s child in the future.
In December 2009 the Yelizarov family teamed up with BC Firefighters without borders and MediQuest Technologies to deploy defibrillator units and training to Thailand. Six units and six firefighters went over to Thailand to implement the defibrillator system.
Media success
The handover of the units took place on Dec. 17 2009 at a media event that I organized.
This was such a good story that I was pretty confident that media would want to come and talk with Noah’s family. As it turned out, CTV, CityTV, The Richmond Review, The Richmond News, The Province and The Sun all showed up.
Here are links to some of the coverage:
Richmond News – Dec. 17, 2009 – It’s like saving lives in Noah’s name
CTV – Mar. 29, 2010 – Dying to Play
While at the event, I also took some video of how a CPR rescue with a defibrillator works:
